The Dallas Cowboys released Ezekiel Elliott from the team Wednesday.

Ezekiel Elliott is an American football running back who was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys fourth overall in the 2016 NFL Draft. He played college football at Ohio State where he earned second-team All-America honors in 2015. Recently, it has been reported that after seven seasons with the Cowboys, Ezekiel Elliott has been released from the team.

Ezekiel Elliott had a successful career with the Dallas Cowboys. He finished his rookie season in 2016 leading the NFL in carries (322) and yards (1,631) as the Cowboys finished 13-3. He earned his first Pro Bowl selection and was named first-team AP All-Pro for his efforts. In one of the best games of his career, Elliott rushed a career-high 33 times for 150 yards with two touchdowns in a 33-19 victory at Washington early in the 2017 season.
